Hiawassee River Trip

Enjoy this scenic river in Tennessee with Class I to Class III rapids

We’re going down the Hiawassee in Tennessee! It’s definitely not the usual float and we will not be seeing the usual things. It’s well known in the white water world as the prettiest run this side of the Mississippi. The river is fed by a power plant’s dam and has scheduled releases. This gives us a unique ability to hike where we just paddled and see things a bit differently.

We’ll arrive on Friday the 18th, spend the night in Adventure Unlimted’s campground behind “The Bus Bar and Grill” and enjoy some good food and live music within walking distance of our tents. We’ll be using an outfitter and renting rafts and duckies Saturday. This run isn’t one we want to take our boats on. After the run there is plenty to see, plenty to hike to and plenty of people to meet from all over the USA so there’s lots to do besides paddle.
